Available Reports

The following reports can be generated for G Suite (formerly Google Apps) Connections:

ReportDescription
Google Calendar Object TotalsProvides a detailed breakdown of all objects that exist within Google Calendar, organized by user. Includes resource calendars if selected.
Depth ReportProvides a breakdown of the depth of folders within the domain. Can be filtered by minimum and maximum depth.
Google Group Object TotalsProvides a detailed breakdown of all Google Groups that exist.

Google Mail Object Totals

Provides a detailed breakdown of all objects that exist within Gmail, organized by user.
Google Drive Object TotalsProvides a detailed breakdown of all objects that exist within Google Drive, organized by user.
Google Site Object TotalsProvides a detailed breakdown of all objects that exist within Google Sites, organized by user.
Shared Content by User ReportProvides a breakdown of files and folders shared by users within the domain, and to external users.
Permissions by ObjectProvides a breakdown of the sharing on each object within the domain, including external sharing. Can be filtered by minimum share count.

 

Google Drive Object Totals

This report provides information about:

  • The total number of objects within each user’s Drive account

  • Each user’s Drive content ownership and sharing structure

Best Practice: Identify power users with very high content ownership and numbers of permissions and permission sets. Create mappings to balance the content ownership across the target domain or split power users into multiple Bridges to increase migration performance.

This report contains the following fields:

The name of each user account within the scanning scope

Google Drive Folders

The number of folders owned by each user

Google Drive Files

The number of files owned by each user

Google Docs

The number of Google Docs owned by each user

Google Sheets

The number of Google Sheets owned by each user

Google Comments

The number of comments within Google Native Document types in the user’s Drive account

Google Permissions

The number of sharing rights assigned to all objects within a user’s Drive account. Used to determine power users and identify potential migration bottlenecks

Google Permission Sets

The number of permission verification checks for Drive objects

Total

The total number of Drive files, folders, comments and permissions for each user

Google Mail Object Totals

This report provides information about:

  • The total number of GMail users within a scanning scope

  • The total number of GMail objects (Mail messages, Labels, etc.) in each user’s account

  • Estimated Data Volume for each user and across the scanning scope

Best Practice: Sum each column to retrieve the total number of respective GMail objects across the entire scanning scope, and use this information during the planning phase to accurately predict the resources required to migrate the GMail environment

Report fields

This report contains the following fields:

 

Field Name

Description

User

The name of each user account within the scanning scope

Google Mail Message

The total number of mail messages in the user’s inbox. This includes all sent/received mail, drafts, and archived messages

Google Mail Label

The number of custom labels created by a GMail user

Google Contact

The number of contacts in each user’s contact list. Duplicate users can be merged in order to reduce this total

Google Contact Group

The number of contact groups that the user has created

Total

The total number of migration objects for each user

Estimated Mail Size

An estimate of total mail usage for each user

 

Google Calendar Object Totals

This report provides information about:

  • The total number of users with Google Calendars within a scanning scope

  • The total number of Calendar objects (Calendars, Events, etc.) in each user’s account

  • How calendars are shared by each user

  • Calendar objects for each resource within the scanning scope

Best Practice: Identify users who own widely essential calendars by highlighting users with very high numbers of permissions and permission sets.

The name of each user account within the scanning scope (Resource calendars are also listed if included in the scanning scope)

Google Calendar

The number of calendars that each user owns

Google Calendar Event

The total number of calendar events created across each calendar owned by the user

Google Calendar Permissions

The number of sharing rights assigned to calendars which a user owns. Used to determine power users and identify potential migration bottlenecks

Google Calendar Permission Sets

The number of calendar permission verification checks

Total

The total number of calendar objects and permissions for each user

 

Google Site Object Totals

This report provides information about:

  • The total number of Sites owned by users within the scope

  • A detailed breakdown of Site contents such as announcements and attachements

  • How Sites are shared 
     

Best Practice: this report can be used to identify users with sites which include pages/attachments/items in excess of 1000 in order to maintain Google Sites best practices.

Google Site PermissionThe number of sharing rights assigned to sites owned by each user

Total

The total number of sites migration objects for each user

 

Google Group Object Totals

This report provides information about:

  • Each Google group within the defined scanning scope

  • Membership for each Google group

Group

The name of each group within the scanning scope

Google Group Members

The total number of Google users within each group

Google Drive Depth Report

This report provides information about:

  • The depth of each folder within the scanning scope

  • The exact location of each folder within Drive

  • The strings required to easily map deeply nested folders to a specified location within an optimized folder hierarchy

Best Practice: Identify deep folder hierarchies in Drive and utilize the values within the ID and AppBridge Path Fields locate the deep locations, and create location mappings to redirect and balance the content across an optimized folder depth in the target domain.

Google Drive Permissions by Object Report

This report provides information about:

  • The total number of sharing rights assigned to each object within the scanning scope

  • The owner of each object within the scope, and each user with editor and viewer rights

  • Whether or not content is shared with external users

  • Each object with permissions explicitly assigned rather than inherited from its parent folder

Best Practice: Identify each object with complex sharing settings by discovering locations with explicitly assigned permissions. Easily preserve the desired permissions infrastructure by assigning a group permission at the root level of all locations which rely only upon inherited permissions.

Readers

All users who have been assigned Viewer or Commenter access

Writers

All users who have been assigned Editor access

Shared Outside

If TRUE the specified object includes sharing rights assigned to users outside the domain or organization

Has Explicitly Assigned Permissions

If TRUE the specified object has permissions assigned at the file/folder level, and the sharing structure will be different to the inherited sharing rights

Total

The total number of google permissions assigned to the object

Shared Objects by User Report

This report provides information about:

  • The type of content shared with each user, and the permissions users have on the shared content

  • The owner of the shared content, and where the content is located.

  • Content attributes such as created/modified time and link to the content within Drive 

Best Practice: Identify which files and folders in user Drives are owned by external users. Use this report to help define a strategy to maintain collaboration with external users post-migration.
