  3. Click the Add button on the Bridges toolbar.

Configuration - Generate Bridges

The following section details the configuration steps for generating Bridges.

* indicates that this setting is required

Choose a naming convention for generated Bridges. All generated Bridges will start with the chosen naming convention and will include a number appended to the end of the name.

Source Connection*

Choose a source Connection added in the Add Connections step from the Source Connection drop down menu. A source Connection is required to generate Bridges.

Target Connection*

Choose a target Connection added in the Add Connections step from the Target Connection drop down menu. A target Connection is required to generate Bridges.

General Settings

Bridge Generator Options

Configure the Bridge Generator options to control how many Bridges are generated.

Each Bridge will execute a single Execute Bridge Action when started. Bridge Actions will be placed into the Action Queue and executed on any available Transformation Servers.

To execute multiple Bridges concurrently, first use the Bridge Generator Options to generate multiple Bridges, then associate additional Transformation Servers, or increase the Action Limits on individual Transformation Servers.

Bridge Partitions

Configure this option to specify the number of Bridges that will be generated. Bridges are balanced in the following ways:

  • If the source Connection has been Scanned: The total data volume across the connection is used to ensure each Bridge migrates approximately the same number of objects. Example: Subfolders with the most objects will be placed in a Bridge by themselves. Subfolders with a small number of objects will be placed in a Bridge with many other small subfolders.

  • If the source Connection has not been Scanned: Folders will be partitioned according to the number of subfolders across the generated Bridges.

Settings Template*

The Default Settings Template will be automatically selected for you once you have selected your source and target Connections. If you created a custom Settings Template in the Preparation phase, please ensure to select it from the drop down menu. The edit icon  can be used to edit the settings for the currently selected Settings Template.

Note: If a Default Settings Template is modified with the edit icon , you will be required to save it as a new Settings Template, as the Default Settings Templates cannot be modified.

Value Maps

User Map

Choose any User Maps created in the Preparation phase from the Users drop down menu.

Location Map

Choose any Location Maps created in the Preparation phase from the Locations drop down menu.

Choose any URL Maps created in the Preparation phase from the URLs drop down menu.

Value Lists

Choose any Value Lists created in the Preparation phase from applicable Value List drop down menus.

If you need to schedule your Bridges for a later date, please consult the Configuration - Scheduling documentation for detailed instructions on using the Transformation Suite scheduling widget.

If additional Transformation Servers have been associated with the Transformation Suite, they will be available in the Server drop down. If a specific Transformation Server is selected, the Bridge will be executed on that Transformation Server.

Best Practice: Leave the Server setting on Automatic to allow the Transformation Suite to automatically manage your Actions.

Generate Bridges

Once all required configuration has been completed, Bridges can be generated by clicking the Add button located at the bottom right of the Add Bridges card. If the Start bridge immediately option is selected, Bridge Actions will automatically be placed on the Action Queue once generation is complete.

Note: Generating Bridges may take a few moments. Check the status of the Bridge generation by clicking the Action Viewer in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Execute Bridges

Once generated, you can start Bridges by using either the Run or Delta (re-run) Actions.

Delta Actions are faster than Run Actions, as they only pick up what is new and changed in the environment. After the first execution, always use the Delta Action.

Execute Bridges using the Run Action

  1. Select the checkbox beside each Bridge you would like to start.

  2. Click the Run button from the Bridges toolbar.

Execute Bridges using the Delta Action

  1. Select the checkbox beside each Bridge you would like to start.

  2. Click the Delta button from the Bridges toolbar.

Monitor Bridges

The Transaction Summary and Run History can be used to monitor Bridges as they are executing.
