Bridge logs are used to:

Monitor Bridges

The Transaction Summary and Run History can be used to monitor Bridges as they are executing.

Transaction Summary

The summary of Transaction results for the selected Bridge, and the corresponding Transaction State for each Transaction.

Transaction Summaries can be viewed by clicking the document icon in the Transaction Summary column for the Bridge that you would like to examine.

Transaction Summaries can be viewed at any time, and provide a live window into the progress of the Bridge.

Run History

A list of all Bridge executions and the corresponding logs. Click the Expand+ button in the Run History column for the Bridge that you would like to examine.

Run History Attributes

Run Histories have many of the same fields as Bridges. They contain the following additional fields:

FieldDescription
CompletionsThe number of Completed Transactions for this execution.
FailuresThe number of Failed Transactions for this execution.
SkippedThe number of Skipped Transactions for this execution.
WarningsThe number of Warning Transactions for this execution.
Bytes CopiedThe amount of bytes copied during this execution.

You can access Transaction Logs, Execution Logs, and Transaction Summaries from previous Bridge executions by expanding the Run History and clicking the document icon in the Transaction Log column.

Review Results

The Bridge Information log and Transaction Log exist to help you review the results of your migrations:

Bridge Information

The Bridge Information Log provides a summary of migration statistics, including:

  • Throughput
  • Transaction results across multiple Bridges

You can access the Bridge Information Log by performing the following steps:

  1. Sign into an authorized Transformation Suite administrator account.

  2. Click the Bridges link in the pages navigation tabs.

  3. Select the desired Bridges from the Bridges list.

  4. Click the Information button on the Bridges toolbar.

  5. (Optional) Download the Bridge Information Log by clicking the Download button

Use the Bridge Information log to get summarized information about multiple Bridges, organized by Transaction Type and Transaction State.

Transaction Log

The Transaction Log stores a record of every Transaction processed during the Bridge Action execution.

The Transaction Log can be viewed by clicking the document icon in the Transaction Log column for the Bridge that you would like to examine.

Transaction Log Attributes

Transaction Logs contain the following fields:

FieldDescription
StateThe Transaction State of the Transaction.
StartedThe time the Transaction was created.
Last ModifiedThe time that the Transaction was last modified.
SourceThe source title for the Transaction.
Source TypeThe source object type for the Transaction.
TargetThe target title for the Transaction.
Target TypeThe target object type for the Transaction.
Details

The Transaction States the Transaction has completed, and details on the results.

Expand the Transaction Details field to determine why a Transaction ended up in a specific state. Transaction Details provide insight on why a Transaction skipped or failed, and show Error Codes, stack traces, and more.

Filtering

The Transaction Log can be filtered to display Transactions by status. To filter the Transaction Log:

  1. Sign into an authorized Transformation Suite administrator account.

  2. Click the Bridges link in the pages navigation tabs.

  3. Click the document icon in the Transaction Log column for the Bridge that contains the Transaction Log.

  4.  Click the Show Filters button on the right hand side of the Transaction Log toolbar.

  5. Choose the Status Types you want to display.

  6. Click the Filter button.

Executing Individual Transactions

Transactions can be executed individually from the Transaction Log. To execute one or more Transactions:

  1. Sign into an authorized Transformation Suite administrator account.

  2. Click the Bridges link in the pages navigation tabs.

  3. Click the document icon in the Transaction Log column for the Bridge that contains the Transactions you will execute.

  4. Select the Transactions you will execute.

  5. Click the Run or Delta button to execute your Transactions.

Using the Delta button to execute Transactions that have failed can repair exponential back-off failures, the most common type of failure encountered in migrations to Google Apps. To attempt a repair of all failed Transactions at once, you can execute the Retry Failures Action from the Bridges list.

Exporting the Transaction Log

The Transaction Log can be exported to a sheet. You can export some or all of the Transactions in the log.

To export all of the Transactions in the log:
  1. Ensure no Transactions are selected.

  2. Click the Export button in the Transaction Log toolbar.

  3. Choose the Export type from the drop down menu.

  4. Click the Export button.
To export a selection of the Transactions in the log:
  1. (Optional) Filter the Transaction log.

  2. Select the Transactions you want to export.

  3. Click the Export button in the Transaction Log toolbar.

  4. Choose the Export type from the drop down menu.

  5. Click the Export button.

Filtering the Transaction Log before exporting provides the ability to export all Transactions with a specific status, like Failed, Skipped, or Warning.

Resolve Failures

Bridge Reports, Error Codes, and the Execution Log exist to help you track and resolve errors encountered during migration.

 Bridge Reports

Bridge Reports can be exported once an execution has completed.

The most commonly used Bridge Report is the Failed Transactions report, which provides a list of all objects that failed during execution, and the corresponding error information.

Surveyor Reports can be downloaded directly from the Bridge Reports tab after an execution has completed.

To download Bridge Reports:

  1. Sign into an authorized Transformation Suite administrator account.

  2. Click the Bridges link in the pages navigation tabs.

  3. Select the desired Bridges from the Bridges list.

  4. Click the Bridge Reports button on the Bridges toolbar.

  5. Select the report you want to download from the drop down menu and select the desired options.

  6. Choose the Export type.

  7. Click the Export button. When the report has generated successfully, click the Save button to download it.

Note: It may take some time to generate the reports, especially for large Bridges.

Error Codes

The Transformation Suite maintains an extensive list of error codes to track the types of errors that can occur, and provides information on when in the process they have occurred. These codes are designed to simplify troubleshooting and help to resolve errors quickly.

Please consult the Error Codes documentation for detailed information.

Execution Log

The Execution Log provides critical information about the state of services required by the Bridge. Check the Execution Log when the Bridge suffers catastrophic errors like an immediate halt after starting.

The Execution Log contains a list of all steps that must be performed to execute a Bridge Action. The Execution Log can be viewed by clicking the document icon in the Execution Log column for the Bridge that you would like to examine.

Execution Log Attributes

The Execution Log contains the following fields:

FieldDescription
StateThe state of the execution step.
TimestampThe time of execution for the step.
StepThe name of the execution step.
Error CodeThe Error Code for the encountered error. If no error was encountered, the value of this field is 0.
InformationInformation on the execution step. If an error was encountered, contains the stack trace for the error.
