When to install MongoDB

Although optional, the installation and configuration of MongoDB as an alternate data provider is recommended as it provides the following benefits:

  1. Use of multiple transformation servers
  2. Significantly better performance

Note: If you would prefer to install MongoDB in Ubuntu, please consult the Installation - MongoDB (Ubuntu) documentation

Install MongoDB Using the AppBridge Automated Installer

The AppBridge MongoDB installer which automatically configures all required MongoDB parameters, creates custom data, log and configuration file locations, and creates the necessary firewall rules.

Caution: The AppBridge MongoDB installer will only function correctly if there is no existing MongoDB installation or MongoDB data on the local server. If you are re-installing MongoDB with the automated installer, please ensure that MongoDB is uninstalled and the existing MongoDB data directory is removed prior to running the installer.

  1. Download the latest AppBridge MongoDB Installer from www.appbridge.it/#/download.

  2. Run the Installer as an administrator.

  3. Create an AppBridge admin user and password.  The AppBridge service will access the MongoDB database as this admin user.

  4. Choose a location for the MongoDB data directory.

The data directory is where MongoDB stores all database information, and can grow quickly. Please ensure the disk that the data directory is placed on has sufficient space as detailed in the Installation - Preparation section

  5. Choose a location for the MongoDB log directory

  6. Choose a location for the MongoDB configuration file. The configuration file will be automatically optimized by this installer but parameters can be manually adjusted by editing this file.

  7. Complete the installation.
